I'm just obsessed with mods and customizing. I am extremely happy with the performance as it is and has a very noticeable increase in power from 5k to 9500 rpms than it was stock. If he alters it now I will probably have to get it altered again in 4ish months. Recently changed exhaust to slip on Arrow Maxi exhaust, not a full system change, I did not change headers or deleted catalytic converter. It's just that Florida weather changes so drastically twice a year I don't think it's even worth it. But like I said I think I'll just go with my dealer for the price of lunch. They promise a 2 day turn around after they receive it and if i'm not happy with they results they would flash it back to stock for free. Although I suspect it too downloads BIN maps, modifies them, then re-upload back to ECU. Other than Honda's proprietary software, I'm not aware of any way to do 'live' adjustments to ECU. ![]() As for flashing ECU, you first modify downloaded BIN maps, then re-flash image back to ECU using HondaFlasher. The company also takes into account where you live and request your sea level. Refresh-rate may be slow due to slow link. Looking into things asking questions and learning. But like I said I am only researching options. So I would feel comfortable getting the re-flash for a cbr300r/K&N/MGP vs my cbr300r/k&N/danmoto. The growler is a totally open system the same as mine. They do have a 300r with a K&N(which is probably the #1 performance AF everyone gets) and as for the exhaust they don't have it for my specific system, they have it for a MGP growler. Hey guys, Im sure youve seen a few posts from me now, that Ive been on the site for a few months. They will only flash if they have the correct settings and bike. Even with a custom map you probably won't pick up more than a couple horsepower at best, but there is a reasonable change to get the power band to be more linear. The place that does the ECU re-flash doesn't just make it up. Each bike is a little different so you will never get an optimal map by downloading it off Dynojet's website or having someone guess on adjustments without having the bike on a dyne. I was wondering if anyone had any issues with there flash by motors, they flashed my 11 zx10 and it was perfect. Your best bet is to leave the PCV on the bike and get a dyno-tune / custom map. I've searched for this topic found simular but not what I was looking for, I just bought a 2012 cbr1000rr, did the flapper mod, pair mod, full yoshi exhaust and sent my ECU off to motors. At least with the Power Commander you have the option of making adjustments to the map yourself if you want to. Then you are stuck with it unless you send it back in for a reflash which would likely be an additional cost. The only legitimate benefit of an ecu flash I see is if you took the bike for a dyno tune and the shop had the capability to flash the ECU themselves. An ecu flash is not going to cause any problems and these motors are dead nuts reliable anyway so you aren't going to need that engine swap like you did on your last bike (what was it, Ducati, Aprillia) Don't bother with all those other mods you mentioned.
